Internship Opportunities

NETRIGHT is inviting applications from experienced early-career professionals for two internship positions at the Secretariat: a Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Intern and a General Administration Intern.

These are structured internship opportunities designed for individuals with relevant practical experience who are seeking to deepen their professional engagement within a national women’s rights network. Interns will gain hands-on experience in feminist advocacy, policy engagement, programme implementation, and organizational systems strengthening.

Programme Officer

The Network for Women’s Rights in Ghana (NETRIGHT), a reputable national women’s rights and economic justice advocacy network is urgently looking for committed gender and development professionals with practical working experience to join our team. NETRIGHT is an equal-opportunity employer. We are specifically looking for candidates to apply for the position of a Programme Officer.

 

GENERAL DESCRIPTION 

Reporting directly to the Programme Manager, the Programme Officer will be part of a team working on NETRIGHT programmes in its three (3) thematic areas namely economic justice, movement building and natural resources including specific assigned roles. To be an excellent Programme Officer, you must be organized and detail-oriented, comfortable working in a muticultural environment and with diverse teams. The goal will be to facilitate the effective management of programmes according to NETRIGHT’s standards. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Proposal and Report Writing
  • Project Coordination 
  • Support management of NETRIGHT working structures 
  • Track and report on emerging national issues 
  • Support Network Growth and Programme Development 

 

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Master’s Degree in the social sciences or other related field with at least three (3) years working experience in the CSO space or a bachelor’s degree in the social sciences or other related field with at least five (5) years working experience in CSO space. 
  • Knowledge and experience of the women’s movement, women’s rights and gender equality work in Ghana and beyond. 
  • Background in gender studies would be an added advantage. 

 

KEY REQUIREMENTS 

  • Must be a strong team player. 
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment. 
  • Ability to work with little supervision. 
  • Possess good interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task. 
  • Ability to be creative and innovative. 
  • Experience in networking, advocacy and women’s mobilising 
  • Demonstrate strong interest in gender equality, social justice, women’s rights and empowerment issues. 
  • Experience in project development and management; and resource mobilisation.
  • Excellent presentation, public speaking and writing skills. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
